Who I Am

February 17, 2010: Before
It's easy for the essential info about who I am to get lost in all of the fluff about jeans & airplane seats & princess underpants.  I'm a 30-something stay-at-home mom of three who weighed 269 lbs in February 2010--I started taking my first steps toward change on my 30th birthday.  I got rid of the first 40 lbs with no activity whatsoever by following Weight Watchers.

Reasons #1-5 for doing what I do
In July 2010 I joined my local Curves & in December 2010 I added Zumba classes to the mix.

On December 31, 2010 my BMI was 29.5 (down from 44.8)...the end of 2010 & the end of obesity.

On February 17, 2011 (my 31st birthday & the 1 year anniversary of the beginning of my journey) I had lost exactly 100 lbs.

In April 2011 I took my first steps as a runner in order to fulfill an anniversary gift to my husband: my first 5K in June 2011.

On June 4, 2011 I ran my first 5K with a time of 38:55 after completing the Couch to 5K Training Program.

On August 20, 2011 I was no longer "overweight"--a HEALTHY adult for the very first time.

After much soul-searching, my hubster & I decided to expand our family: The Three-quel arrived February 4, 2013.  She weighed in at 7 lbs, 4 oz.  I gained more than that.

And now, after losing 120 lbs & gaining 80, I'm back to doing what I know to be the healthiest thing for me: eating (primarily) real food & exercising moderately to get me back to lean & healthy for myself & my family.  Stay tuned, the best is yet to come.

In the mean time, here's a clip-show filling in some of the gaps of who I am & where I've come from.
